KARACHI: Federal coalition government has appointed 127 law officers across the country including Additional Attorney Generals, Deputy Attorney Generals and Assistant Attorney Generals.

A notification to this effect was issued on Aug 19, 2022 by the Ministry of Law and Justice Division. It said that appointments were made by President of Pakistan in exercise of powers conferred by Sub-Section 1&2 (VII of 1970), Constitution of Pakistan.

According to notification Sadaqat Khan has been appointed as Additional Attorney General, Abdul Hameed Siddiqui, Riaz Muhammad Shah and Muhammad Qasim are appointed as Deputy Attorney Generals while Mehreen Ibrahim, Yasir Arafat, Ayazuddin, Yasir Ahmed Shah, Erum Gul, Khaliq-uz-Zaman Ansari, Mobashir Ahmed Mirza, Amir Zeb, Ghulam Sarwar Baloch, Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto, Wajiha Maryam Mehdi and Shafique Ahmed have been appointed as Assistant Attorney Generals.

Prior to this notification, 118 law officers of federal government appointed by the previous regime were dispensed with their services.
