KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Tea Association (PTA) Aman Paracha has said that the Association was issuing price advisories for assessment of imported tea since long, and negated the impression of any wrongdoing regarding valuation of imported tea.

Paracha said the association had meetings with senior Customs and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officers and shared with them the methodology and formula of determining the values of imported tea. He said the officers including Member Customs Tariq Huda were convinced with the authenticity and fairness of the valuation formula.

He said Pakistan Tea Association is playing vital role and issuing price advisories/information to appropriate authorities since almost 40 years to safe guard government exchequers and always endeavouring to provide level playing field to its members including major packers.

Association is playing its role in highlighting the issues faced by its members through any irregularities or misuse of any facility offered by the government.

Aman Paracha also negated the impression that Indian tea was being imported in Pakistan.
