HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur has seized large quantity of smuggled goods, which were being transported to upcountry from Baluchistan.
Keeping in line with the directions of Mr. Abdul Rasheed Sheikh, Director General, Intelligence & Investigation (Customs), Islamabad to curb the menace of smuggling, Director Dr. Sadiqullah Khan, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation (Customs), Hyderabad directed Syed Muhammad Raza Naqvi, Deputy Director Sukkur to keep extra vigilance on the movement of contraband goods coming from Balochistan.
In pursuance of a credible information that huge quantity of smuggled goods would be transported from Quetta to upcountry loaded on different vehicles mounted with 40’ containers, the team of ASO Wing, Sukkur with the assistance of 51 Wing Sindh Rangers intercepted three vehicles at Kashmore.
Examination of the containers led to recovery of smuggled Chinese origin assorted fabric, used tyres for LTV and Iran origin skimmed milk powder. The value of the seized goods comes to Rs76.62 million.
Director Dr. Sadiquallah Khan appreciated the efforts of ASO Wing Sukkur headed by Deputy Director Raza Naqvi, Superintendent Ali Ahmed Talpur, Inspectors Irfan Ghani and Ahmed Junejo on this remarkable case.
It may be mentioned here that MCC Hyderabad has a large strength as compared to I&I, and yet MCC Hyderabad is only focussed on extorting legitimate traders and facilitating smugglers.
