KARACHI: Large scale transfers and postings in Pakistan Customs Service, that had been finalized by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), have been delayed due to the mini-budget being announced on January 23, 2019.
Member Customs (Operations) Owais Agha Jawwad had recommended the transfers and postings in PCS, as he intends to reshuffle the teams operating across the country. Owais Agha Jawwad’s recommendations had been approved and finalized by the FBR.
however, the transfers and postings were postponed on the recommendation of Member Customs (Policy) Jawed Ghani. Sources said Ghani was not in favor of reshuffling the Customs teams.
An official said this hinted a little difference of opinion between the two Members of FBR as it was the mandate of Member Customs (Operations) to run the operational affairs, which include transfers and postings.
It may be mentioned here that reshuffling of BS-18, BS-19 and BS-20 officers of Customs had been finalized, which will be notified in the first week of February.
Moreover, promotions and nominations for training courses are also expected after the mini-budget. [the_ad id=”31605″]
