KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) and Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) have agreed on the formation of a Corporate Advisory Council.

According to details Director General of PCSIR Mohammad Aleem Ahmed called on KATI, the acting President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Vice President Maheen Salman, Chairman & CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, head of KATI’s standing committee on R&D Syed Wajid Hussain, Former Presidents Farhan-ur-Rehman, Akbar Farooqui, Ghazanfar Ali Khan and others welcomed the DG.

Acting President KATI Faraz-ur-Rehman said that as industrial growth needed for financial integrity, research and development is vital for industrial development.

He noted that export sector was also suffering due to lack of R&D and skilled human resource. He urged that to fulfill the protocols and requirements of international buyers industry and research institution should work together and a liaison is must to expand exports sector.

The DG PCSIR said that meeting with KATI would be helpful to form a productive relation between industry and the council. He offered to form a corporate advisory council, consisting of experts and industrialists.

He said that initially office bearers of KATI would be included in the council and it would be expanded further to other industrial areas of Karachi. He also briefed the gathering regarding services provided by the council and the future projects. He applauded the active role of KATI for bringing industry and the research institution together.

Syed Wajid Hussain added that an awareness drive should be initiated to introduce role and importance of PCSIR among industrial community.
