KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has revised the customs values of several household appliances and amended the Valuation Ruling No.903/2016 vide order-in-revision No.278/2016.
M/s Home Plus Pvt Ltd and others had approached the Director General submitting the values of household appliances were determined vide the impugned valuation ruling in conflict with the principles of law enunciated by Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Moreover, the importers submitted that the Directorate of Customs Valuation has altogether ignored the transaction values of goods and determined the values without following the procedure laid down in Section 25 of the Act.
Keeping in view the submissions made by the importers, department reply and market inquiry conducted, Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmed rationalized the categories of the household appliances and redetermined the values of several goods.
