KARACHI: Hanif Gohar Chairman ABAD has said in view of the extra-ordinary response of ABAD Expo 2014, the association had decided to hold the exhibition every year. “ABAD Expo 2016 is being held on August 12-14, 2016, where 206 exhibitors including 32 foreigners would be showcasing their products and services.”
Gohar informed the briefing that Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad had consented to be the patron of this international event.
Haris Ali Mithani, Convener ABAD, said builders & developers as well as 72 allied industries would be participating in the event.
“Construction and allied sector companies from China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, UAE, Italy, Germany and Lebanon have confirmed their participation and booked stalls,” Mithani said.
Moreover, delegates from 23 countries would also participate as visitors.
ABAD has also planned seminars and workshops in affordable housing, solid waste management and opportunities in the construction sector.
Talking about the issue regarding valuation of properties, Arif Jeeva, Vice Chairman ABAD, said the issue had been resolved amicably. “The collector values of properties in Karachi and Islamabad were stagnant since long and they need to be revised. However, this revision would be made gradually.”
Association of Builders & Developers (ABAD) is holding ABAD International Expo 2016 in mid-August, which is expected to generate business activity to the tune of Rs600 billion, Mohsin Sheikhani, Patron-in-chief ABAD said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“ABAD Expo 2014 generated business activity of around Rs300 billion and we expect this would double this time,” Sheikhani said referring to improved law & order situation and investment friendly environment in the country.
