KARACHI: The campaign initiated by MCC Exports to recover government revenue through attachment of bank accounts has started yielding results as the collectorate has Rs6.615 million.
The collectorate had earlier notices to the defaulters to make the payments followed by notices to the banks for the attachment of bank accounts of the defaulters.
Resultantly, an amount of Rs3.848 million including surcharge of Rs1.325 million was recovered from M/s STC (pvt) Ltd, Rs0.366 million were recovered from M/s Creation Ind. through attachment of bank account, Rs0.635 were recovered from M/s Four Waves Ent, Rs0.645 were recovered from M/s Mohd Sharifuddin through attachment of bank account, Rs 0.032 million from M/s Fardous Textile, Rs0.610 in addition to Rs0.263 million surcharge were recovered from M/s Ahsan Raza through attachment of bank account while Rs0.210 were recovered from M/s Spectrum Int.
Collector MCC Export Manzoor Hussain Memon had formed a team headed by Assistant Collector Dr. Jam Mohd Asif and comprising Principal Appraiser Sardar Amin Farooui, Examining Officer Muhammad Zakir and Muhammad Yunus. The team was assigned to effect recovery of legitimate government revenue, which was either short-paid, short-realized or evaded.
Another defaulter M/s Gravue Packaging (Pvt) Ltd was not traceable. Hence their property situated at SITE Karachi was attached while property of M/s Al-Noor Traders situated at Shahrukne Alam Colony Multan was also attached.
Moreover, attachment notice has been served on certain banks for the attachment of bank accounts of Muhammad Taufi s/o Wali Muhammad for recovery of Rs0.5 million along with surcharge. A demand notice has been served on M/s M.U Traders for recovery of Rs1.165 million on account of customs duty and other levies.
A demand notice has been served on M/s Textile Plus Corp for recovery of Rs0.764 million and penalty of Rs50,000. A demand notice has been served on M/s Trendy Apparel’s for recovery of Rs0.248 million along with leviable surcharge.
A recovery notice has been served on Asif Javaid s/o Muhammad Javaid advising immediate payment of government dues of Rs1.349 million and personal penalty of Rs0.5 million adjudged in 2012.
MCC Exports has also issued a notice to certain banks for the attachment of bank accounts of Salman Siddique s/o Muhammad Siddique of M/s Silver Leaves Manufacturers, Karachi as government dues of Rs4.397 million, penalty of Rs266.486 million along with leviable surcharge are outstanding against them.
Attachment notice has been served on the banks of Muhammad Jameel s/o Fariq Muhammad for the recovery of Rs1.427 million along with penalty of Rs0.55 million. Banks of M/s Muhammad Sharifuddin have also been advised to attach account for recovery of Rs0.909 million.
Ahmed Ali has been advised to immediately pay Rs0.865 million and Rs0.3 million (penalty) in the government treasury, which are outstanding against him since 2012. Mohsin Ali has been advised to immediately pay Rs2.802 million and Rs0.11 million (penalty) along with surcharge in the government treasury, which are outstanding against him since 2012. Muhammad Taufiq s/o of Wali Muhammad has also been advised to immediately pay Rs0.5 million in the government treasury, which are outstanding against him since 2011.
