KARACHI: The MCC Exports has issued scores of show cause notices to exporters who had attached invalid or fake Form-E along with their Goods Declarations (GDs) for exports.

It was leant that under the directives of Collector MCC Exports Manoor Memon directives, strict vigilance and monitoring is being kept on export consignments to avoid any other scam like the recent gold jewelry export scam.

Sources said that MCC Exports has recovered Rs6.0 million in terms of fines and penalties so far.

In a recent incident, an exporter filed export GD through WeBOC automated customs clearance system. However, during the examination of the attached documents with the GD it was observed that the Exporter had attached a form-E, which is not even endorsed/ authorized by the concerned bank, hence it is in admissible as per law

This is a violation of section 32(1) of the Customs Act. 1969. Similarly, the clearing agent failed to discharge his liabilities.

Meanwhile, Agha shahid Majeed, Ccollector Exports Port Qasim has sought verification from different bank that whether the export receipts were realized or not against certain form-E.
