Karachi: Employees of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have expressed their deep disappointment and frustration over a recently announced reward scheme that exclusively benefits cadre officers of grades 17-22. In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the FBR, RTO Abbottabad, the undersigned employees highlighted their grievances regarding this discriminatory approach, which they believe neglects the hard work and dedication of employees of grades 1-16.
The letter stated that previously, certain undisclosed allowances were added to the monthly remuneration of CSP’s, which were disbursed directly by the Board to their IBANs from the common pool fund. This decision has demotivated the majority of FBR employees, who are considered the backbone of the organization. The exclusion of grades 1-16 from the reward scheme has led to widespread discontent, negatively impacting morale and productivity.
The employees have urged the Chairman to reconsider the decision and ensure that all employees are recognized and rewarded for their contributions. They have requested the following:
1. Provide a clear reason for the exclusion of grades 1-16 from the initial reward scheme.
2. Review and revise the reward scheme to include employees of all officer grades.
3. Develop fair and transparent criteria for rewarding employees, considering the same factors per the announced scheme but including the evaluation of employees below grade 17 for their superiors.
The letter concludes by emphasizing the importance of recognizing the efforts of all employees to maintain a motivated and productive workforce within the FBR.
