KARACHI: The Customs Enforcement authority has formally notified new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for escorting Transit (AT) and Transhipment (TP) cargo. The detailed SOPs, including specified routes and deployment plans for en-route escorts, were developed by Collector Naveed Ilahi, Assistant Collector Saba Ali, Principal Appraiser Rasheed Khan, and Appraising Officer Zia-ur-Rehman.

Karachi to Chaman (Distance: 810 KM, Time: 96 Hrs)

Daily Cargo: 110 vehicles/containers

Convoys: 7-8 convoys of 14-15 vehicles each

Sepoys: 7-8 sepoys per convoy, totaling 56 sepoys per day

Details: The journey will take approximately 96 hours. Sepoys will return to Karachi after 48 hours and require 24 hours of rest before the next duty.

Karachi to Sukkur (Distance: 475 KM, Time: 48 Hrs)

Daily Cargo: 40-42 vehicles

Convoys: 3 convoys of 14-15 vehicles each

Sepoys: 3 sepoys per convoy, totaling 15 sepoys per day

Details: The journey will take approximately 48 hours. Sepoys will return to Karachi after 48 hours and require 24 hours of rest before the next duty.
