KARACHI: FBR has notified transfers and postings of BS-16 officers from various collectorates to Customs Appraisement, South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT), Custom House, Karachi.
Among those affected by this change are Malik Waleed Asif, Muhammad Saleem Mahboob, Abdul Ghaffar, Nazia Kafeel, Syed Sidiq Ullah, Shaikh Hakeemullah, Adil Javed, Tausif Ahmad, Ilyas Gichki, Arif Ali Shahzad Qureshi, Ali Raza, Asher Nazir, Atta Ur Rehman Khan, Imran Aslam, and Muhammad Noman Manzoor.
These officers, who previously held roles as Appraising/Valuation Officers at various directorates and customs collectorates, have been reassigned to the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT), Custom House, Karachi.
This strategic redeployment aims to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of customs appraisement processes at the SAPT, Custom House, Karachi. The transfers will remain in effect until further notice, signaling a push towards improved administrative performance within the department.
An official said all these measures were to increase in the work efficiency of Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA). FCA started with 44 Appraising Officers and then 16 more were assigned at faceless system. Now, these 15 officers which are assigned at SAPT will be reassigned to FCA.
The official said FBR was making all measures to expedite the assessment of GDs by FCA.
An official said the working plan is reportedly being changed in FCA. There was 24-hour duty and no off-day which was causing unease among the officers. It is being planed that FCA will operate in two shifts, which would ease the workload on the FCA staff.
