KARACHI: On the directives of Collector SAPT Irfan Wahid, Additional Collector Imran Razzak has reassigned responsibilities among officers. Deputy Collector Qurat-ul-Ain Ramay has been tasked with overseeing Transshipment along with other duties.
Deputy Collector Ramay will monitor the duration for TP consignments and inter-port movements, focusing on SAPT and KICT to prevent pilferage. She will also keep a record of how many Goods Declarations (GDs) are filed against the index in the Import General Manifest (IGM) and track unclaimed indexes. Previously, there were instances of unclaimed container cargo being replaced with the help of terminal operators.
The Manifest Clearance Department (MCD) was previously replaced by the MIS department, which did not maintain the same level of oversight. Collector Irfan Wahid has now enforced the Transshipment Order to ensure better control and monitoring of these processes.
