KARACHI: Notices were issued to the respondent importers of steel products by Custom Appellate bench of High Court of Sindh in five identical Special Custom Reference Applications (SCRAs) filed by Director of Custom Valuation. Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate represented the applicant.
Messer’s Bashir Pipe Industries Pvt Limited, Lahore is respondent in three SCRA’s while others are Idrees Steel Co, Karachi and Hussain Marmaids.
Earlier Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate informed the bench that the identical controversy is pending before the SHC in SCRA 1789 of 2023 and other connected matters and that in the instant matter Tribunal has followed the earlier order. He referred to paragraph 13 of the impugned judgment.
The bench after hearing ordered notices to the respondents while suspending the judgment dated 11.5.2024 in Custom Appeal No K-262/2024 and directed the office to fix these SCRAs with SCRA 1789/ 2023.
