Quetta: The Customs Intelligence & Investigation (I&I) Quetta, under the supervision of Director Nadeem Memon, carried out a successful operation against smuggling on 20.02.2024.
Acting on a tip-off from Mr Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Director General, I&I, Islamabad, the Customs Quetta team intercepted a Hino truck loaded with mix auto spare parts near the Quetta bypass.
Upon examination, it was found that the goods and the vehicle were smuggled/non-duty paid, and their total value was estimated at Rs 33.7 million.
The smuggled items and the truck were seized under the Customs Act 1969, and further legal action was initiated against the offenders.
The Customs Quetta officials appreciated the efforts of Director General I&I and Director I&I Quetta for their guidance and support in curbing the menace of smuggling.
