Quetta: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Quetta has seized various smuggled and non-duty paid items and vehicles worth Rs 33.93 million in a crackdown against smuggling from January 26 to February 1, 2024.

The operation was carried out on the directions of Mr Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Director General, I&I, Islamabad, who passed the credible information to Director Customs I&I, Quetta Nadeem Memon.

The seized items and vehicles include a Daihatsu Mira car, a Toyota Aqua car, 104 cartons of mixed cigarettes, and 35 Samsung LCDs of different sizes.

According to the customs officials, the smuggled goods were being transported from Balochistan to other parts of the country. The vehicles and items were intercepted and confiscated by the customs teams at various check posts and routes.

The customs authorities have initiated further proceedings in the case in accordance with the law and vowed to continue the anti-smuggling drive in the region.
