KARACHI: The High Court of Sindh has granted 7-day protective bail to Tariq Mehmood s/o Adalat Hussain starting January 19 to January 25, 2024. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had booked Tariq Mehmood for money laundering and receiving bribes from smugglers for facilitating smuggling.
Tariq’s counsel contented before the court that the accused was innocent and falsely implicated in the case with malafide intention.
He also contended that the accused intended to surrender before the trial court for his bail but apprehended his arrest at the hands of FIA, hence filed the application for protective bail. The court granted the bail against a surety of Rs50,000.
