A customs team led by Assistant Collector Bakhtiar Memon seized two buses carrying smuggled goods worth Rs. 70.3 Million near Khuzdar on Thursday. The team acted on a tip-off from Collector Muhammad Saleem Memon and Additional Collector Sajid Ali Baloch and chased the buses from Surab Checkpost with the assistance of Frontier Corps (FC).
The seized goods included fabric, edible items, cigarettes, betel nuts, gutkha, motor oil, razor blades, tyres, welding rods, cashews, and Chinese salt. The buses and the goods were taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
This is one of the biggest seizures of smuggled goods in the region and reflects the commitment of the customs department to curb smuggling and protect the national economy.
