A raid by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gwadar resulted in the confiscation of a huge cache of smuggled goods from a warehouse in Hub city on Thursday.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Director General I&I Faiz Ahmed, Director Gwadar Jamshed Ali Talpur and Additional Director Moen Afzal, with the support of SSP Manzoor Ahmed Boledi.

The seized goods included tyres, cloth, betel nut, cigarette and Indian Gutkha, which had an estimated value of Rs66.67 million. According to the customs officials, these goods were illegally brought into the country and were intended to be sold in different markets.

The customs authorities have registered a case against the owners of the warehouse and are conducting further investigations to trace the source and destination of the smuggled goods. They have also vowed to continue their efforts to curb smuggling and protect the national economy.
