KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned 17 officers/officials of Customs Enforcement Karachi and I&I Karachi to appear before Assistant Director FIA along with income tax returns, wealth declarations and assets declaration forms.
FIA is investigating officers/officials of Pakistan Customs on the allegation of corruption, abuse of official power and facilitation to the smugglers.
The officers called by the FIA include former Chief Collector Manzoor Hussain Memon; former collectors Usman Bajwa, Aamir Theim, Saquif Saeed, Feroz Alam Junejo, Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi; Additional Commissioner IR Ejaz Ahmed Butt; Additional Collector I&I Karachi; SPS Iftikhar Hasan, Abdul Jabbar Khan Niazi, Bashir Ahmed Bhutto, Salahuddin Wazir, Muhammad Tayyab Khan, Jamal Zia; Inspectors Saeed Farooqui, Syed Momin Shah; and Preventive Officer Shahbaz Ahmed.
FIA has also summoned former Additional Collector Honaq Baloch; Additional Collector Amjad Hussain Rajper; DC/ASO Tariq Hussain; AC retired Raghib Hussain; Preventive Officers Ubaidullah, Hasan Sardar, Zaheer Cheema, Danish Kaleem; SPS Irfan Ahmed, Aijaz Ali Khoso; Intelligence Officers Hafiz M. Younus, Anwar Farooqui, Asad Farooqui.
