KARACHI: As a measure of interim relief to petitioner / importer company M/S fiber Technia Industries, a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh allowed release of consignment against securing of disputed amount of duties and taxes before the Nasir of SHC while deposition of un-disputed amount of duty and taxes with the Collectorate concerned.
The bench earlier heard counsel from Franklin Law Associates who represented the petitioner company. The counsel submitted that consignment was detained due to a valuation disputed and the matter is in adjudication. The counsel said that the consignment is incurring storage charges, the petitioner side is ready to secure the differential amount.
The bench after hearing the state counsel allowed the request ordering the securing of disputed amount of duty and taxes before Nazir of SHC while depositing un-disputed amount with the respective clearance collectorate.
The bench with above orders disposed of the petition.
