KARACHI: Customs Enforcement Karachi has launched a crackdown against smugglers and during last 48 hours made seizures of worth Rs272 million including cleverly concealed 125,000 litres Iranian Diesel loaded on 04 transporting oil tankers.
The staff of Customs Enforcement Karachi operated at different places and seized huge quantity of Smuggled Foreign Origin assorted Cosmetic, 125,000 Liters of Diesel, Indian origin Gutka 135 bags concealed under gravel in dumper and other misc items including cloth, chocolates, betel nuts etc.
The aggregate CIF value of goods comes to Rs175.2 million and Market value Rs 272 million. The recovered goods have been detained for further investigation.
Customs, due to shortage of resources, was kind of helpless against smuggling. However, Army Chief has issues directives to all border agencies to cooperate with Customs in the campaign against smuggling.

Under the directives of Chief Collector Yaqoob Mako, Collector Aamir Thaim, Additional Collector Amjad Rajper and Deputy Collector Tariq Hussain have expedited the anti-smuggling activities and the Customs Enforcement Karachi is back in action after a long time.
