SUKKUR: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur has seized large quantity of smuggled miscellaneous goods worth millions of rupees. These goods were being transported to Karachi from Baluchistan for onward distribution.

Information was passed through Director General Islamabad Faiz Ahmed to Director I&I Hyderabad Saleem Memon that huge quantity of foreign origin goods would be transported from Baluchistan to Karachi.

Accordingly, Deputy Director Shakeel Ahmed formed a team led by Saeed Farooqi Superintendent Sukkur, Irshad Ali, Shah Muhammad and Fareed channa Intelligence officers. The suspected vehicles were intercepted near Excise Check post, Sukkur Toll Plaza.

Preliminary examination of the vehicle was conducted on the spot and found fully loaded with foreign origin goods including Cumin Seeds, Almonds, Pistachio, Walnuts, and Peanuts.

The drivers of the said vehicles produced bunch of transportation bilties along with GDs which were examined and found irrelevant. Goods were seized and cases are lodged. Investigations are underway.
