KARACHI: The provisional release of goods imported by Noor Traders was ordered by a custom bench of High Court of Sindh on deposition of disputed quantum of duty and taxes with Nazir of SHC.

The bench earlier heard counsel from Franklin Law Associates representing the petitioner company who said that an application under section 25 of Custom Act 1969 is pending before Director Valuation Department.

The counsel expressed willingness of importer company of securing disputed amount of duty and taxes with Nazir of SHC as consignment is incurring storage charges at port.

As Deputy Attorney General present did not object to such request, the bench allowed the same ordered the petitioner side to deposit the disputed quantum of duty and taxes with Nazir of SHC while pay undisputed amount of duty and taxes with the department by submitting pay order or bank guarantee.
