KARACHI: Hearing a petition filed by AAG Impex, seeking release of its consignment stuck up at Port over a valuation dispute, the custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered release of goods against secured amount of duty and taxes.

Earlier the bench heard a counsel from law firm Franklin Law Associates who submitted that petitioner has filed a revision application before the Director General, Valuation, Pakistan Customs which is pending.

The bench observed that as the consignment is incurring port charges, by way of interim relief, consignment be released after securing un-disputed amount of duty and taxes before the collectorate concerned while disputed amount be secured with the Nazir of SHC. The fate of the amount secured was made conditional to the outcome of revision application.
