KARACHI: The de-blocking of custom clearing agent Nadeem Agencies was ordered by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh.

Sardar Faisal Zafar Advocate appeared for the petitioner and stated that license was blocked on the basis of an Order in Original dated 14-11-2011. The said order was assailed before the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal which reached a conclusion that no connection was evident from the record that petitioner was involved in smuggling of the impugned goods.

It was further contended that despite favorable order, the respondents are not de-blocking the license.

Khalil Dogar, Masooda Siraj and Afsheen Aman Advocate, appearing for different respondents of Pakistan Customs told the bench that order of the tribunal has been challenged in Special Custom Reference Application.

The bench perusing the case file held that “in the circumstances we are of the tentative view that no material is available on record to justify the blocking of the Custom House Clearing Agent License”. The bench then ordered de-blocking of the license while further hearing was adjourned till March 03,2022.
