KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan and Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry while issuing notice to the respondents including Special Customs Appellate Tribunal (SCAT) and private person Akhtar Muhammad, restrained the tribunal from passing any coercive order till next date of hearing.

The bench earlier heard Khalid Rajpar Advocate, counsel for Director of Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigations (Customs) Hyderabad Region. The counsel submitted that SCRA 53 of 2022 has been filed and now the private respondent has filed an application for implementation of order of the Member Judicial, II of the SCAT passed on 08-02-2022 which appears to be coercive in nature and therefore the tribunal be restrained from passing any coercive order.

The bench while restraining the SCAT fixed March 08 as next date of hearing of SCRA.
