KARACHI: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Asim Ahmed and Member Customs Tariq Huda have finalized transfers and postings of BS-21 and BS-20 officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PSCS).
Orders regarding transfers and postings of BS-21 PCS officers is scheduled to be notified on Friday evening.
Sources said BS-21 officer Wajid Ali is likely to get a very important Appraisement position in Karachi , while BS-21 officer Faiz Ahmed is likely to be transferred to Islamabad on a very sensitive post.
Chief Collector Baluchistan Gul Rehman (BS-21) has been quite efficient against smuggling and is likely to continue in his office. DG Valuation Shahnaz Maqbool will also continue her office, while Zeba Hai is likely to be posted as member on the board. Moreover, Chief Collector KPK and Chief Collectors in Punjab will be re-shuffled.
The transfers and postings have been planned keeping in view the targets assigned in the federal budget, and high-profile and well reputed officers are likely to be appointed on key positions.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has focused on smuggling, and valuation manipulation of imported goods. In order to eliminate smuggling and maintaining uniform valuation of similar goods across all Custom stations, the newly posted officers will be assigned targets and tasks.
Further, the reshuffling of BS-20 PCS officers will be notified next week. According to sources, Collector Appraisement East Fayyaz Rasool, all other Collectors in South region including Preventive and Enforcement will be reshuffled.
Collector Port Qasim Ashad Jawwad has been extra-ordinary against corruption, but on his own request, Jawwad is likely to be moved to Punjab. Collector Quetta Waheed Marwat and Collector Preventive Quetta Irfan Javed are likely to be posted in Karachi.
Sanullah Abro is likely to be moved to Quetta, Collector Peshawar Muhammad Saleem will also be moved. Director ATT Feroz Alam Junejo is likely to be posted as Collector Preventive Karachi, Saquif Saeed to be Director I&I Karachi, Yaqoob Mko to be Collector Hyderabad, while Zeba Azhar will get her posting, she has returned from training awaiting posting.
It may be mentioned here these trasnfers and postings were long overdue, but could not be affected because the High Power Board (HPB) could not convene due to the busy schedule of Prime Minister.
