KARACHI: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Javed Ghani is set to retire on April 11, 2021, as the Prime Minister Imran Khan did not grant Javed Ghani any extension.

Sources said a regular Chairman FBR was not likely to be appointed before the meeting of High Power Board (HPB), which is chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. High Power Board (HPB) will meet next week.

It was known that the BS-22 Inland Revenue Service (IRS) officer Seema Shakil will be given the acting charge of Chairperson FBR.

Sources said that a BS-21 officer of IRS is set to be promoted in BS-22, and most likely he would be appointed the regular Chairman FBR.
