LAHORE: MCC AFU Lahore has lodged an FIR against one Hasnain Raza, M/s UPS Courier and M/s Faisal Cargo Agency for importing hazardous Boostin-S injections.

These hormonal injections are administered to livestock to increase milk production. These injections are extremely hazardous for humans consuming the milk of such animals, and are also banned by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Information was passed through Collector AFU Lahore Azmat Tahira to Additional Collector Nayyar Shafiq that an attempt would be made to smuggle Boostin-S injections into the country.

Deputy Collector Usman Tariq alerted the staff at ICG Section. During the course of examination of courier parcels that had arrived from an Emirates airline, a suspicious parcel was detected, which had been booked by UPS Courier from Dubai to Lahore for one Hasnain Raza, Mughalpura Lahore.

The parcel was marked ‘Testing Kit’. The parcel was opened which led to recovery of 3,000 Boostin-S 500mg injections. The value of the goods is estimated to be Rs5.6 million.

Preliminary investigations revealed that M/s Faisal Cargo Agency and M/s UPS Courier partnered to smuggle banned goods in the garb of testing kits.

An FIR is lodged and investigations are underway.
