KARACHI: ANF PCU Team at Pakistan International Container Terminal Karachi has foiled a bid to smuggle abroad large quantity of “Methemphatamine (Ice)”.
ANF PCU Team at Pakistan International Container Terminal Karachi intercepted a container containing “Used Clothing” destined to Jabel Ali port, Dubai.
During thorough physical examination of cargo and container, huge quantity of “Methemphatamine (Ice)” recovered which were tactfully concealed in the press bails of used clothing.
According to details, the shipment was being exported by M/s Mushtaq Engineering Works, Lahore to M/s Al-Saadah Plastic Industry LLC, Sharjah.
An official said the import and export of used clothing was the biggest channel of smuggling, and authorities have already detected several scams at Export Processing Zone. However, ssed clothing is not yet put in Red in the system. However, certain collectorates have put used clothing in Red, which can be turned to Green anytime.
It may be mentioned here that Customs officials had been found involved in used clothing scam at EPX, but NAB released them through plea bargain after receiving very little amount.
