Karachi: Capt. A Moiz Khan, patron-in-chief, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and President Naseem Akhtar has lauded package for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) would provide them relief amid the economic downturn brought on by the pandemic.
In a statement, NKATI leaders thanked to Prime Minister Imran Khan and suggested that the services of trade bodies be sought for transparent implementation of this package to make the scheme effective.
“According to Federal Minister for Industries & Production Hamad Azhar, whenever small businesses resume their work after the lockdown, the government will pay their three-month bill. The package will benefit 3.5 million people, including small businesses, also will benefit businesses with 5 kW commercial connections and 70 kW industrial connections, which will benefit 95% of businesses and 80% of industries”, they added.
They said lockdown for prevention COVID-19 epidemic and the consequent closure of businesses & industries “Package for SMEs” was definitely a needed of time. This will help small businesses and industries get back on their feet.
Stressing on the need to expedite the implementation of this package, Capt. A Moiz Khan and Naseem Akhtar said that work on this scheme would be expedited as soon as possible and the role of the concerned trade bodies should be included so that more people could benefit.
