KARACHI: Chief Collector Wasif Memon held a meeting at his office on Wednesday, which was attended by Collectors Saquif Saeed, Nadeem Memon, Jamil Nasir, Imtiaz Sheikh; Additional Collectors Haroon Mailk, Umar Shafeeq and other officers.

State Bank of Pakistan will be approached to facilitate e-payment of duty and taxes, while WeBOC module would also be updated to facilitate e-payments.

No one will be allowed to enter Customs House Karachi premises without a face mask. A sanitizing walk through gate is also being installed at the entrance of the building.

An app is designed, and a focal person is appointed, who would have the authority to allow entrance or refuse entrance to persons other than Customs officials.

WHO prescribed chemicals would be used to fumigate the entire Custom House building on Thursday and Friday. Moreover, employees of 50 plus age would be exempted from attendance at office.

The meeting was informed that all the officials at WeBOC Network Data Center at 9th floor of the building had tested negative for the virus.

Wasif Memon has appreciated Supervisor South PRAL Zafaryab Zaidi, Ali Naqvi, Asfar Abbas, Faisal Shamshad, Amjad hussain, Muhammad Imran, Tufail, Faizan, Mumtaz, Asad Abbas, Saquib Ashfaq, Adnan, Arsalan, Sameer Mirza, Hamid Raza, Jawwad and Adil as they had been working 24/7 at the PRAL Data Center even after an employee Imran Khan was diagnosed with the virus, they kept the system running, otherwise it would have been collapsed.

Chief Collector Wasif Memon had ordered PPE for the staff of Data Center, have been delivered, while officers and officials have also been insured.
