KARACHI: Establishment Division has notified that National School of Public Policy has stopped the ongoing 112th National Management Course (NMC); 27th Senior Management Course (SMC) and 29th Mid-carrier Management Course (MCMC) till May 31, 2020 due to extraordinary circumstances keeping in view the spread of coronavirus.
The courses will resume from June 01, 2020 for completion of remaining portion of training from the point the training activities have been stopped. The under-training officers have been advised to report to their respective ministries, divisions, departments and agencies immediately.
These officers including Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officers have been sent back and they will be given new postings, as they cannot sit idle.It is likely that transfers and postings will be notified in a couple of days.
It may be mentioned here that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) does not have a permanent Chairman at the moment, while Member Customs (Policy) also has the additional charge of Member Customs (operation), which is a highly sensitive and important position.
Member Customs (Policy) Javed Ghani is an honest officer but he is considered a weak officer who is unable to take critical decisions.
