KARACHI: Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association (KWGA) has expressed concern over the undue detention of grain carrying vehicles by Police and urged the authorities to refrain police from this practice, otherwise there would be shortage of food grains in the city.
President KWGA Malik Zulfiqar Ali said food grain vehicles coming from Punjab and interior Sindh were being stopped, detained by the police. He said that grain markets were opened across the country so that masses would be supplied with the food products, and if the transportation of these goods was hindered in this way, there would be shortage in the market hurting supply to retailers.
