KARACHI: District Municipal Corporation (DMC), East was restrained from collecting advertisement tax by a division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan.
Batal Pakistan moved the court maintaining that section 22 of the Companies Act allow them to display the name of their company brand at shop’s.
It was also submitted that a private party has issue a demand notice on behalf of the DMC East.
The bench after a brief hearing restrained the DMC East from any recovery against the impugned demand notice.
