KARACHI: Despite resources constraints and harsh weather conditions, Customs Quetta has expedited its campaign against smuggling and non-Customs-paid vehicles.

Chief Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Ali has advised Collector Preventive Iftikhar Ahmed to observe no leniency and ensure discontinuation of the business of non-customs-paid vehicles.

In a fresh crackdown on car showrooms housing smuggled vehicles, Customs Quetta seized ten vehicles worth Rs20 million. Raids were conducted with the assistance of FC on illegal car showrooms in Kuchlak area.

The traders of such vehicles resorted to create a law & order situation, however things were taken under control, and the seized vehicles were removed to Customs House.

The campaign against smuggled vehicles and illegal showrooms is continuing for several months and a large number of vehicles worth millions of rupees were seized.

Moreover, Customs Quetta in a joint raid conducted on a warehouse in Kuchlak area and recovered large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs100 million. Kuchlak is a highly sensitive area, therefore complete homework was done to ensure a foolproof operation.

The seized goods include cigarettes, gutka, electronics, and tyres etc. It may be mentioned here that it was the sixth significant operation in the last three months. Chief Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Chaudry has appreciated the staff for exemplary performance.
