Lahore: The two-day 64th Children’s Literature Festival (CLF) and one day Teacher’s Literature Festival , is the largest learning event for children and teachers in Pakistan that  will be held on January 21-22 and 23 , 2020 in Lahore at the beautiful Children Library Complex. It is a non-ticketed festival open to ALL School systems, children (3-18 years), teachers and families. There will be 100s of schools from public and private sectors including special education/inclusive institutions attending the CLF Lahore with lots of lively preparations underway for over 100 sessions planned for the three day event. CLF is a flagship program of the well-known civil society organization Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA). Maryam Khokhar, Chairperson CLC will be the co-host of the festival along with Baela Jamil, CEO ITA.

CLF has 16 learning strands running concurrently ranging from storytelling to theatre, puppets, art of book making, illustrations, STEM, robotics, digital learning, mobile libraries, arts and crafts, dance, book fair, book launches, cinema ghar and music etc.  The last day of the festival (January 23, 2020) will be dedicated to teachers; the Teacher’s Literature Festival (TLF) packed with lively professional development sessions for teachers /educators from 9:00 -2:30 p.m. Thethree day festivalwill bring together prominent celebrities, writers, poets, musicians and actors, literature/language experts including Arfa Syeda Zehra, Amjad Islam Amjad, Khaled Anam, Abaseen Yousafzai, Basarat Kazim, Rumana Husain, Juggan Kazim, Rumana Husain, Rahila Baqai, Sarwat Mohiuddin, Sarah Ahmed, Shehrzade Alamanda  concert“ Rocking with Timeless Poetry”  by Ali Hamza, Ali Noor and Rakae Jamil.

A special CLF Award has been designed for Outstanding Services by Resource Persons and Institutions who have been actively supporting the Festival since 2011 given in recognition for their passion and selfless support at the CLF Lahore2020.

All Rooms/Halls at the CLF Lahore as per practice have been renamed at Children Library Complex Lahore reminding participants about famous literati giants viz. Bulleh Shah, FaizGhar , Shakespeare Hall, Bano Qudsia, Ashfaque Ahmed, Arfa Karim, Lahore Walled City Gardens, Karvan-e-Iqbal  etc.

The colorful Inaugural Session of the CLF will be held on January 21, 2020 at 09:00 a.m. with performances by school children from special education institutes, Harsukh and Sanjan Nagar school as well as two young authors.  The lively cultural-heritage connoisseur, author,  gender expert and former Lok Virsa director and currently the Director- General of the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Dr. Fouzia Saeed will be the Guest of Honor.
