MELBOURNE: Tesserent Limited has announced the appointment of renowned Australian businessman Geoff Lord as Non-Executive Chairman.

Lord is the Founder and CEO of the Belgravia Group, a privately held investment group which since being established in 1990 has grown to employ more than 10,000 people in businesses spanning sports, fitness, leisure, clothing and more.

In addition, Lord is the former Founder and Chairman of UXC Limited, one of Australia’s largest IT services businesses. After being founded in 2002 as a $5 million business, UXC grew under Lord’s leadership to be acquired in 2016 by NYSE-listed Computer Sciences Corporation in a deal valued at A$427.6 million.

Other board positions held by Lord include the Melbourne Business School and SME finance business Judo Bank. He has also shown a significant passion for sports and clubs, having served as Chairman of Hawthorn Football Club and Melbourne Victory.

Geoff Lord is the largest shareholder in Tesserent and has acted as an advisor to the board since early 2019.

Tesserent’s Managing Director Julian Challingsworth said securing Geoff Lord as the Company’s Chairman is a major coup as it enters a new year.

“Geoff has been a trusted advisor to both the board and I over the last 12 months, and has shown his belief in our strategy by investing in several rounds of capital raising.“It is the belief of Geoff and the entire board that Tesserent, in the cybersecurity sector, can mirror the success UXC achieved in the IT services sector. Geoff’s experience and network are both powerful and unique, and will put Tesserent in an extremely advantageous position moving forward. We’re looking forward to continuing to execute on our strategy and delivering value for shareholders.”
