KARACHI: Pre-admission notices were issued for Jan 22 to Customs officials in a petition filed by importers of Polyester Filament Yarn including Zakaria Enterprises, Ali Enterprises, Mubeen International and Messrs M.A.Ilyas.
The bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan earlier heard Rayan Zia advocate who contended that petitioner only seeks provisional release of their consignments as they have challenged the Valuation Ruling 1387 of 2019 dated 03-09-2019 before the Director General of Valuation, Pakistan Customs.
The bench after a brief hearing while ordering issuance of pre-admission notices also sought comments and directed the respondent Collectorates including Model Custom Collectorate (MCC East and West) to consider the request of petitioners for provisional release after securing duty and taxes payable.
The respondents include Chairman FBR, Collector MCC Appraisement East/West, Director, Directorate General of Valuation.
