KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh and Justice Omar Sial issued notices to the federal government besides FIA in a case of placing name of a person on Exit Control List.
Ms Dil Khuarram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner Choudhry Naeem Iqbal challenged the inclusion of name of petitioner in ECL. According to her, the name of petitioner was included into the list by FIA as he was found involved in a scam by fake/NGO’s existing in papers only which imported hiace vans modifying them or shown to be ambulances and once released by customs, converted into commercial vehicles. She stated that as per charge, only bank account of the petitioner was used for making some amount. On this charge alone he cannot be barred from movement in and out of Pakistan, she prayed.
The bench after brief hearing ordered issuance of notices to the respondents including federation and FIA for Dec 24.
