KARACHI: In a case of reassessment of already assessed Goods Declarations by Post Clearance Audit (PCA) of Pakistan Customs, a customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered issuance of pre-admission notices to the  clearance collectorate concerned, PCA and Deputy Attorney General for Nov 20 in a petition filed by Galaxy Tradcom and others.

Kelash Advocate appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are the importers of desk top and lap top computers and that their GDs were duly assessed under section 80 of the Customs Act 1969 but were subjected to re-assessment by the PCA. It was contended that the PCA has no jurisdiction as it is violation of section 32 and 179 of the Act.  The counsel placing a copy of judgment by this court in a Special Custom Reference Application 132 of 2016 relied on the said order and contended that this matter has already settled by this court.

The bench after hearing the counsel while ordering issuance of pre-admission notices to respondents restrained from taking any coercive action pursuant to impugned re-assessment  of aforesaid GDs.
