KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Kuasar Sultana on Thursday ordered issuance of bailable warrants of arrest against Deputy Executive of Sindh Building Control Authority, Liaquatabad Town.

The SBCA official was summoned by the court to appear today in three identical petitions pertaining to alleged illegal demolition of buildings declaring them dilapidated, dangerous but without any notice or mandatory inquiry under SBCO 2002.

Sohail Hameed advocate appearing for the petitioners submitted that while SHO Super Market PS is in attendance on court notice, the SBCA official neither filed comments through a representative nor appeared despite directions of the court.

The court noticing the absence of the official Ehtesham ordered issuance of bail-able warrants of arrest against him for Oct 31.

The petitioners maintain that SBCO provides a detailed procedure for building which are in dangerous state. The SBCA is bound to order an inquiry, serve a notice upon owners of such building and then refer matter to a “Technical Commitee” which after inspection gives its report about state of the building structure.
