KARACHI: The Directorate General of IPR Enforcement Islamabad arranged a seminar on ‘Safeguarding Consumer Rights through IPR Enforcement on Friday in the Conference Room of MCC Islamabad.

Dr Jawad Awais Agha Member (Customs) FBR was the Chief Guest of the event, while officers of Customs Department from Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit Baltistan, Sialkot, Lahore and Multan attended the event.

Director General IPR Enforcement Customs Dr Arslan Subuctageen gave a presentation on the performance of the Directorate General.

Muhammad Ismail Director (Enforcement) IPO Pakistan, Bilal Haider of Oxford University Press (OUP), and Ali Yaqooti (Manager GSK) also made presentations.

Dr. Jawad Awais Agha appreciated the efforts of the Directorate General of IPR (Enforcement) Customs and stressed the need of protection of rights of Pakistani consumers specialty thier health and safety through enforcement measures by Pakistan Customs against the counterfeit imports and infringement of the rights of bonafide traders and right holders.
