KARACHI: The authorities of Pakistan Customs were asked by a customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh to de-block the NTN of mobile giant Telenor Pakistan.
The bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan earlier heard a counsel from Franklin Law Associates appearing for the Telenor. The counsel submitted that the respondents on the basis of a Order in Original passed against petitioner by Adjudicating Authority raised a demand of rupees 10 million as short levied and on the basis of exparte order, the NTN of the company has been blocked.
The counsel pointed out that the addresses given in the notices were incorrect and hence they haven’t received the same leading to an ex-parte order. The authorities are taking action without considering the plea of petitioner, the counsel submitted apprehending coercive action. The bench after a detailed hearing ordered that no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner. The bench also ordered that NTN of the petitioner company be de-blocked forthwith.
