DOHA: Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company announced that the first locally produced tea factory was opened in Doha (Lipton and Red Label) which is a new addition to efforts to support national industries in the State of Qatar and achieve self-sufficiency.[the_ad id=”31605″]The opening of the factory comes within the framework of efforts exerted by the ministerial group, headed by His Excellency the Prime Minister, to stimulate and share in order to support the economic sector development projects, and to enhance its participation not only in terms of achieving national development by meeting domestic demand in the food sector, but also join hands with the government in supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The new tea packaging plant of the Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) is located in, New Industrial Area, that has advanced infrastructure and logistic services. The plant produces tea packs of different sizes.
H.E. Ali Bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, The Minister of Commerce & Industry, said in a statement: “The opening of the plant is one of the fruits of the State of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to achieve partnership with the private sector and support them by all means, and encourage them to contribute to support the national economy and achieve value addition, in addition to contribute to the achievement of self-sufficiency in many sectors, including the food products sector in line with National Vision 2030.”
He also invited the private sector to take advantage of the various investment opportunities provided by the State of Qatar in different sectors. The Minister praised the role played by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry through its various departments to facilitate procedures, and provide all necessary to achieve the State of Qatar’s directives to expedite procedures and to provide all requirements for the success of local investments and foreign affairs.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, of QIMC, thanked H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the Cabinet, on the support of His Excellency. Sh. Abdulrahman said that Lipton and Red Label represent more than two-thirds of sales in the domestic market, and the involvement with a global company specializing in this field will be an adding quality to the highest standards to the rest of the manufacturing plants in the State of Qatar. QIMC Chairman further said that the opening of this plant comes within the support of the Government initiative to support national industries.
The Lipton and Red Label brand is part of Unilever Worldwide, which owns many brands in various fields.
