KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Wednesday stayed auction of hundreds of vehicles scheduled to be held today (April 25).[the_ad id=”32940″]Overseas Shipping Agency Private Limited moved the court through their counsel Zia-ul-Hasan Advocate maintaining that the vehicles were imported legally under relevant gift and baggage schemes but custom authorities of West collectorate are misinterpreting the SRO 52 0f 2019.
The custom authorities instead of accepting and processing the GDs filed in respect of these hundreds of vehicles are auctioning the same which will cause irreparable loss to the importers.
The bench after hearing Zia-ul-Hasan advocate at length stayed the auction while fixing April 30 as next date of hearing in these petitions.
