KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Tuesday directed Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations to submit the reply in a petition filed by one Owais who imported fabrics.
The petitioner seeks implementation of an Order in Original in favour of petitioner. A counsel from Franklin Law Associates appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations has filed an appeal before the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal which was also decided in favour of the petitioner side. Three months have passed but no Special Custom Reference Application was filed by the department either, yet the goods are not being released by the respondents, contended the counsel for petitioner.
The bench after hearing the sides asked the department to file a proper reply and also explain that when no SCRA was filed why the goods in dispute were not released.
The bench later fixed April 22 for a final hearing.
