KARACHI: Hundreds of appeals are being adjourned and dozens new institutions remain pending marking to benches after retirement of Justice (Rtd) Malik Manzoor Hussain who was appointed chairman of the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal (SCAT) in Sept 2016.
The member Judicial Nadeem Qureshi has also retired as this time no extension was given to him.
With these two key posts vacant since a fortnight, the work at SCTA is suffering badly and pendency is increasing day by day. The chairman of tribunals assign/marks the cases to the different benches.
