KARACHI: The management of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is keen to expand to profitable routes and the airline is in the process to inducting new aircraft, President & CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik said.
“PIA has already restored Sialkot-Sharjah and Lahore-Muscat routes recently, which are showing very encouraging results,” he said while addressing the PIA officers at a ceremony organized by PIA Senior Staff Association at PIA Head Office.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked the senior officials of the airline who voluntarily gave up their allowances keeping in view the financial constraints of the airline.
He said only merit will prevail in the airline. PIA will also utilize and make productive use of its assets such as land and property in not only Pakistan but abroad as well by devising a strategy to generate regular income flows.
He said that a committee had been formed to improve upon pension structure of retired employees.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked PIA Senior Staff Association and the office bearers of all associations pledging their full support for the airline. He said he strongly believes in teamwork and has full confidence in all employees.
“Do all that is possible for your Country and PIA by working together as a team for the betterment of our national pride”.
President PIA Senior Staff Association, Aqeel Siddiqui and General Secretary, Safdar Anjum on behalf of the officers said that all employees had full confidence in Air Marshal Arshad Malik and were willing to go an extra mile and would support him all the way in bringing back the past glory of PIA.
